About Mahindra South Africa
Mahindra South Africa started writing its story in 2004, when it opened its first local dealers in places like Nelspruit, Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Johannesburg.
Since those early days, the company has steadily increased the investment in its network, its own team and its product range to today, where it can proudly count itself among South Africa’s ten best-selling car and bakkie brands.

On its way to becoming a Top 10 South African brand, Mahindra has been recognised as one of South Africa’s fastest-growing vehicle brands, including receiving the title as the outright fastest-growing brand for several years.
The journey to here has been one of responsible growth. Products are designed by the global Mahindra Group and are then tested on local soil to breaking point before being introduced. The same applies to our after-sales support, supported by a state-of-the-art central parts warehouse that ensures components are fully stocked and rapidly dispatched to support both current and past Mahindra models across the country.
Indeed, Mahindra takes its customer service so seriously that it promises to take action on any complaint or concern raised by a customer within 24 hours of receiving it on its WhatsApp or our customer care phone line.
Behind the scenes, Mahindra is working hard to be a proud and productive corporate citizen. In 2018, we opened our first Semi-Knocked-Down (SKD) vehicle assembly facility in KwaZulu-Natal, where we began locally producing the Mahindra Pik Up range.

Building on that foundation, 2024 marked a major milestone with the launch of our new, purpose-built SKD assembly plant located in the Dube TradePort Special Economic Zone. Equipped with advanced manufacturing processes and significantly expanded capacity, this facility stands as the beating heart of our local production operations.
Today, the plant operates at high efficiency, delivering over 1,000 Pik Up models to clients every month. This includes the flagship Mahindra Karoo and Karoo Special Edition models, ensuring that vehicles built specifically for local conditions are assembled right here on home soil.
Supporting our growing vehicle lineup on the road is a comprehensive logistics operation anchored by our central parts warehouse. Designed to streamline inventory management and response times, this facility keeps essential components fully stocked across our entire vehicle portfolio.
The central warehouse ensures rapid dispatch of original parts directly to our nationwide dealer network. Whether servicing the latest model releases or supporting legacy Mahindra vehicles that have been on the road for years, the facility plays a critical role in minimizing downtime for our drivers.
This robust parts infrastructure directly underpins our overall commitment to customer care. By maintaining high stock availability and efficient regional delivery channels, we ensure our team can take swift, decisive action on any service request or inquiry within 24 hours.

Other models in the expanding range of Mahindra products include the Scorpio-N, which was the Adventure SUV of the Year in the South African Car of the Year competition in the year of its introduction. Both the Scorpio-N and XUV 3XO were picked as the Motor Enthusiasts Choice in the SA Car of the Year competition in successive years.
Mahindra South Africa does not take its sales success lightly.
We know that it is a reflection of our efforts to bring customers the best possible range of Authentic SUVs and Authentic Bakkies that are affordable, reliable and offer world class technology and after-sales support.
We are thankful for your continued support and look forward to sharing our journey in South Africa with you!
